Chapter 14

“Hey! I’m going as fast as I can,” Rowan cried when a goblin prodded her in the ribs.

The beautiful blonde led the coffle ahead of Arwyn. Maeve came third, with Sheela next. Then six young human women finished out the coffle line. A second coffle of human women walked next to them. Goblin guards – half with cudgels, the rest with prods – surrounded and kept them moving.

They trudged uphill, toward the gleaming white walls of Pakaki City. It was once a powerful human city, now the goblin horde’s greatest conquest. The crowd on the road with them was mostly human. Some were obviously slaves, naked and hobbled. Most looked free, so had come to some kind of understanding with their goblin conquerors.

A demon’s deal if I ever saw one, she thought.

Arwyn dropped her eyes and shook her head, sometimes she still struggled with being a slave. For the past forty-five days it seemed her only use was as a cock sleeve. First Gunt and his band had their way with her, constantly, for about a month. It was only marginally better as Lukkr’s slave. She spent most of her two weeks locked up in a tiny cage out in the elements. But the goblin slavers dragged her, and every other woman, out several times a day for play time. They usually fed and watered the slavegirls after sex, so Arwyn had come to look forward to those unsavory sessions.

I never believed I could be broken and tamed so easily, she thought, face heating up. Her mouth watered as she thought about sucking goblin dick, which seemed the thing they wanted most from her and the other slavegirls. Goddess help me.

At least they didn’t force her to ovulate. Rowan wasn’t so lucky, having naturally gone into her fertile month shortly after capture. That poor elfmaid was a maid no more, though she hadn’t begun to show yet. While Arwyn’s own fertility month was seven and a half months away, she knew Maeve would become fertile in a few weeks, and two months later Sheela would be fertile.

We’ll all be carrying goblin babies by the end of the year. Arwyn couldn’t stop thinking about what awaited her in the city. Surely, goblins would only purchase them to get babies, but… We could be purchased by humans. I have no idea if a human would want a half-elf child. She grimaced. Of course, the half-elf child would be born into slavery, so quite valuable.

Lukkr led the way up to the city gate, where he turned right down a side street instead of entering. Arwyn cocked her head. They weren’t going into the city? She looked back down the road up from the docks. She scanned the fork in the river, where the Minu River emptied into the Pakaki. The city was divided into three by that fork, each walled with docks lining the river banks.

A moment later they entered a plaza with an auction block on the north side. Other slavers were already busy auctioning off their merchandise.
